Job Description

The Purchasing Lead will negotiate pricing and terms with vendors for the purchase of all materials, supplies, equipment and services used by Matec. This will involve coordinating with various departments to ensure adequate inventory is on hand to meet business needs while also maintaining controls to reduce excess stock and waste.

Essential Functions
  • Locate vendors of materials, equipment or supplies, and interview them to determine product availability and terms of
  • Negotiates with vendors most favorable pricing for goods and services while meeting the highest quality
  • Monitors purchase orders for accuracy and ensures materials are received on-time and distributed to the proper department on the manufacturing floor.
  • Establishes purchasing and inventory policies and ensures compliance; creates and standardizes processes and procedures for inventory
  • Administer online purchasing systems (ERP) and assure purchase orders and receipts are entered into the system accurately and
  • Maintain records of goods ordered and received, ensuring fulfillment of bill of material for individual
  • Participate in the development of specifications for equipment, products or substitute
  • Analyze market and delivery systems to assess present and future material Work with various departments within the Company to ensure systems are in place to plan and order materials, services and supplies to fulfill demand.
  • Control purchasing department Works with accounting to establish account credit and terms
  • Establishes standards for quality control and ensures quantity is checked for accuracy; documents discrepancies and notifies accounting for required adjustment or
  • Arrange for disposal of surplus materials and manages the return and tracking of defective
  • Develop new supply sources where vendors are
  • Follows environmental and safety regulations and serves as a lead member of Matec's Safety

Benefits & Compensation

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $65,000.00 to $85,000.00 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.
