Job summary

Florida Canyon Mining, Inc. is seeking a Buyer to manage procurement of materials, parts, equipment, tools, and services for our mining operations in the United States.

Reporting to the Supply Chain Supervisor, you will issue purchase orders, oversee contracts, and support planning with sourcing proposals. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in business or related field (preferred) and at least five years of procurement experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred.
• Minimum of five years procurement experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a team environment required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
• Excellent safety record with ability to demonstrate safety leadership qualities required.
• Excellent planning, problem solving, decision making, organizational and interpersonal skills required.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds required.
• Demonstrated ability to perform essential functions of the position required.

Responsibilities

Job description

Reporting to the Supply chain supervisor, the Buyer is responsible for purchasing materials, parts, equipment, tools, and supplies, and overseeing the administration of purchase orders. Initiate and manage supply agreements and contracts. Assist planning and other personnel with obtaining service and supply proposals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Analyze requests for services, research contractor documents to verify, effectively and accurately use PC’s software to generate contract agreements.
• Continuously express and exchange ideas by means of the spoken word and interpret written materials and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Frequently communicate and interact with mine personnel and outside contractors in order to contract services.
• Use and operate office machines such as telephone systems, computers, fax and copy machines, printers, and 10 key adding machines.
• Maintain monthly cost savings reports.
• Assist other departments as needed.
• Maintain a safe, healthy, and clean environment by ensuring that safety and company values are present in all aspects of work
• All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
