Austin Allen Company - Professional Recruitment is helping a growing manufacturer in Memphis fill a Buyer position focused on purchasing, supplier management, pricing, and ensuring materials are available to support manufacturing operations.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree, import experience, at least three years in purchasing/procurement, and familiarity with ERP/MRP systems, SAP, and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
• Must have import experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of purchasing/procurement experience, preferably with some materials planning responsibilities.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
• SAP and Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Strong negotiation, organization, and supplier-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Drive procurement strategies within established pricing frameworks.
• Secure competitive pricing, lead times, and MOQs.
• Negotiate routine commercial terms with approved vendors.
• Work closely with management to identify opportunities for cost reduction, quality improvement, and increased efficiency.
• Manage supplier relationships and purchasing requirements.
• Coordinate material availability to support production and on-time shipments.
• Monitor inventory, forecasts, and material usage as needed.
• Work within an ERP/MRP system.

Growing manufacturing company is looking for a Buyer for their Memphis facility. This role will focus on purchasing, supplier management, pricing, and ensuring materials are available to support manufacturing operations. We’re looking for an organized, detail-oriented professional with strong purchasing and import experience.

What you'll do as the Buyer:
