Job summary

Rexel USA in Lenexa, Kansas is seeking a Buyer to support product availability and inventory strategies through standard purchasing processes. These include daily review of reports to optimize the ERP, issue purchase orders, manage stock levels, and ensure on-time delivery.

The role requires managing open purchase orders, maximizing stock rotations with vendors, and maintaining accurate ERP data. This position partners with the Vendor Product Manager and leadership to sustain efficient supply

Qualifications

• 2+ years purchasing or distribution sales experience.
• Distribution sales, operations, finance, or purchasing experience.
• High School or GED - Required.
• Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent - Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review daily reports to identify potential material purchases.
• Open purchase orders: liaise with vendors to ensure ERP accuracy and on-time delivery.
• Manage ERP status to align with demand planning.
• Follow up on actions from Vendor Product Manager, Director of Purchasing or VP of Pricing and Procurement.
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels to meet company delivery goals.
• Maximize vendor stock rotations for current, sellable inventory.
• Support [e-mail] to meet 15-minute SLA.
• Analyze usage to minimize surplus and obsolete materials.
• Review material requests and present to management for approval.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Description

We are looking for a Buyer to join our Talley team in Lenexa, Kansas!

Summary

The Buyer position supports company product availability and inventory strategies through standard purchasing processes. These include daily review and analysis of reports to optimize the ERP, issue purchase orders, manage stock levels, manage surplus, maximize rotations to assigned vendors, and manage open purchase orders to ensure on time delivery.

What You’ll Do

• Daily reporting review and analysis for potential material purchases
• Daily review of open purchase orders and communication with vendors to ensure accuracy of ERP and on time delivery
• Manage product ERP status to ensure proper demand planning
• Follow up on any action items assigned by Vendor Product Manager, Director of Purchasing or VP of Pricing and Procurement
• Analyze, review and maintain appropriate inventory levels in support of stated company inventory deliverables
• Maximize vendor stock rotations to ensure the most current and sellable inventory
• Support [e-mail] to ensure 15 min response SLA
• Manage inventory through regular usage analysis to minimize surplus and obsolete materials
• Review and analyze material requests to present to management team for approval
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

What You’ll Need

• 2+ Years of experience Purchasing or distribution sales
• Distribution sales, operations, finance, or purchasing experience
• High School or GED - Required
• Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent - Preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• MS Office suite, Epicor Prelude, Data Analysis, mobile and digital communication.
• Familiarity with supply chain processes (e.g. inventory planning, warehouse management)
• Analytical mind with business acumen
• Problem-solving aptitude with positive attitude
• Be open to change and deal calmly and effectively with high-stress situations
• Engage work with a high sense of urgency and be highly organized and detail oriented
