Job Description: Aerospace Buyer

MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WORKING IN AEROSPACE

Shift: 1st - 7:00 am to 4:00 pm

The Aerospace Buyer is responsible for obtaining the best quality, service, and value for products and services through effective bidding, negotiation, and supplier management. The role involves identifying manufacturing needs, selecting suppliers, initiating purchase orders, and arranging for delivery of parts, equipment, services, and materials of limited scope and complexity.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree (BA) in Business Administration or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. This is a professional entry-level position.
2. May have limited prior industry experience or participated in student internship programs.
3. Certificate in Purchasing Management (CPM) preferred.
4. Knowledge of key purchasing and negotiating methods, principles, and general business operations.
5. Understanding of legal and regulatory requirements related to procurement.
6. Basic knowledge of continuous improvement techniques and methods.
7. Proficiency in standard business application software and specialized purchasing or materials systems (e.g., EDI, MRP).
8. Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
9. Research and data analysis skills to develop recommendations or resolve problems.
10. Ability to work independently with general instructions, setting priorities and determining task order.
11. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports.
12. Excellent communication skills to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or the business community.
13. Problem-solving skills including defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing conclusions.
14. Effective negotiation skills to obtain favorable prices and terms.
15. Ability to demonstrate team competencies, participate in goal-setting, and engage in self-development activities.
