Job summary

LHH Recruitment Solutions in Elk Grove Village is partnering with a growing company to add a Buyer to its procurement team. This role is hands-on, requiring close supplier collaboration and data‑driven decision making across the full purchasing lifecycle.

You will manage POs, review inventory, and work with about 1,500 SKUs while coordinating with domestic and international suppliers. A strong Excel skillset and ERP/MRP experience are essential.

Qualifications

• 2–4+ years of purchasing, procurement, materials or supply chain experience.
• Direct purchasing experience, including working with suppliers and managing POs
• International purchasing/supply chain experience strongly preferred
• Experience with HTS codes and international logistics is a plus
• Experience with an ERP/MRP system; Microsoft Dynamics experience is a plus
• Strong Excel skills, including experience working across multiple reports and using VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP
• Comfortable analyzing data and using it to make purchasing decisions
• Detail‑oriented, dependable and highly organized
• A natural problem solver who isn’t afraid to ask questions or roll up their sleeves
• Experience in a smaller or growing company environment is especially valuable
• Someone looking for stability and long‑term growth

Responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day purchasing and open purchase orders
• Review inventory levels and determine appropriate purchasing needs
• Work with approximately 1,500 SKUs, with the majority of volume concentrated among a smaller core group
• Communicate directly with domestic and international suppliers
• Monitor lead times, pricing, order confirmations and delivery schedules
• Expedite materials and proactively address potential shortages
• Partner closely with warehouse, operations, logistics and finance
• Help resolve receiving, shipment, invoice and supplier discrepancies
• Work with logistics partners/brokers to support international shipments
• Maintain accurate purchasing and supplier information within the ERP
• Analyze purchasing and inventory data and identify opportunities for improvement
• Help build and improve processes as the organization continues to grow

I’m partnering with a growing organization in the Elk Grove Village area to add a Buyer to its procurement team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands‑on, working closely with suppliers and operations, and using data to make smart purchasing decisions.

This is not a role where you’ll simply cut POs all day. They’re looking for someone who understands the full purchasing lifecycle, can look at inventory and demand, make sound buying decisions, troubleshoot supply issues, and help bring additional structure to a growing organization.

$70K up to $75K base + 10% bonus opportunity
