Job summary

Z SUPPLY, a California women’s lifestyle apparel brand, seeks an experienced Buyer/Planner to join our Planning team in Costa Mesa. You will develop seasonal buys, analyze sales and inventory, and translate insights into merchandising opportunities.

This role emphasizes collaboration with sales, merchandising, planning, and operations to optimize inventory across channels. The position requires a strong eye for detail, advanced Excel, and ERP experience, with a hybrid schedule (4 days in office,

Qualifications

• 4+ years of apparel buying experience (wholesale).
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, v-lookup).
• Experience with Full Circle ERP.
• Strong analytical, prioritization, communication skills.
• Understanding of retail vocabulary and math.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute seasonal and annual buying strategies aligned with company objectives.
• Prepare and maintain ownership of inventory buys for multiple categories and divisions.
• Analyze sales performance, inventory levels, market trends, and customer demand to make informed purchasing decisions.
• Prepare and distribute weekly, monthly, and seasonal business reports, including sales analysis, inventory reporting, KPI tracking, and hindsight reviews.
• Conduct detailed hindsight analysis to evaluate product performance, identify trends, and improve future buying and assortment strategies.
• Partner with sales, merchandising, planning, operations, and leadership to provide data-driven insights on demand, opportunities, and trends for optimal multi-channel inventory.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Buyer / Planner to join our Planning team.

Position Title: BUYER

Position Type: Full Time / Salary Exempt

JOB OVERVIEW

POSITION DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and execute seasonal and annual buying strategies aligned with company objectives.
• Prepare and maintain ownership of inventory buys for multiple categories and divisions.
• Analyze sales performance, inventory levels, market trends, and customer demand to make informed purchasing decisions.
• Prepare and distribute weekly, monthly, and seasonal business reports, including sales analysis, inventory reporting, KPI tracking, and hindsight reviews.
• Conduct detailed hindsight analysis to evaluate product performance, identify trends, and improve future buying and assortment strategies.
• Partner closely with sales, merchandising, planning, operations, and leadership teams to provide data-driven insights on customer demand, product opportunities, category performance, and emerging trends and to ensure inventory is allocated effectively across channels.
• Manage purchase orders, replenishment strategies, and inventory flow with a high degree of accuracy.
• Monitor open-to-buy budgets and ensure financial targets are achieved.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting, forecasting, and operational efficiency.
• Maintain rigorous attention to detail across product data, reporting, pricing, purchase orders, buysheets, and communications.
• Stay current on market trends, competitive activity, consumer preferences, and emerging opportunities within the apparel industry.
• Attend industry trade shows, vendor meetings, and market appointments as needed to identify trends, products, and partnership opportunities.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE / SKILLS / COMPETENCIES

• 4+ years of relevant apparel buying experience (wholesale brand experience preferred)
• Passion of apparel, product development, merchandising, and consumer trends.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, formulas, v-lookups, etc.
• Experience with Full Circle ERP preferred
• Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, and presentation skills
• Understanding of retail vocabulary and the application of retail math
• Strong, professional and effective verbal and written communication skills
• Self-motivated with critical attention to detail and deadlines
• Demonstrate initiative, innovation, and follow through
• Ability to adapt well to change in direction and priority in a fast- paced and deadline-oriented environment
• Willingness to travel locally and domestically occasionally for tradeshows, shopping trips, or vendor appointments

ANNUAL SALARY RANGE $100,000 - $120,000
