Job summary

Ur-Energy USA Inc. is a uranium mining company in Wyoming seeking a detail-oriented Buyer to join the Supply Chain team in Casper.

You will support sourcing, purchasing, and expediting of materials, equipment, parts, and services to keep mining operations running safely and without interruption. You’ll work with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Warehousing, and Finance to execute POs, negotiate favorable terms, and ensure critical goods arrive on time.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2–3 years of purchasing/procurement/supply chain experience, ideally in mining/oil & gas/manufacturing.
• Familiarity with procurement processes: RFQ/RFP, PO administration, supplier qualification, expediting.

Ur-Energy USA Inc. is a uranium in-situ recovery (ISR) mining company operating in Wyoming, with sites at Lost Creek and Shirley Basin. We're looking for a detail-oriented Buyer to join our Supply Chain team in Casper, WY, supporting the sourcing, purchasing, and expediting of materials, equipment, parts, and services that keep our mining operations running safely and without interruption.

In this role, you'll work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Warehousing, and Finance to execute purchase orders, negotiate favorable terms with vendors, and ensure critical goods arrive on time. What You'll Do

• Create, issue, and manage purchase orders for materials, parts, equipment, chemicals, and services supporting site operations and maintenance
• Source and evaluate vendors based on cost, quality, delivery performance, and safety compliance
• Solicit and analyze competitive bids and proposals; select suppliers in line with procurement policy
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times, and delivery schedules
• Expedite open purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery of critical and long-lead items
• Partner with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering to understand material specs and technical requirements before sourcing
• Help identify and qualify new suppliers, including vendor documentation and compliance information
• Support tracking and reporting of procurement metrics such as cost savings, on-time delivery, and spend
• Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, vendor communications, and approvals
• Support administration of vendor contracts, blanket purchase orders, and standing agreements
• Participate in health, safety, and environmental meetings; follow all site safety standards
• Travel periodically to mine sites, warehouses, and vendor locations as needed

What You'll Need

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related field — or equivalent experience
• 2–3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain, ideally in mining, oil and gas, heavy industrial, or manufacturing
• Working knowledge of procurement processes, including RFQ/RFP, purchase order administration, supplier qualification, and expediting
• Familiarity with mining commodity categories such as explosives, reagents, PPE, mechanical parts, and heavy equipment components is a plus
• Strong negotiation, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills
• Effective written and verbal communication; comfortable collaborating across departments and with external vendors
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); ERP or procurement software experience preferred
• Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, drawings, and parts lists
• Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record
• CPSM, CPPB, CPP, or similar certification is a plus

Work Environment

This role is based primarily in an office setting with periodic visits to warehouse and mine site locations, which may involve outdoor weather, dust, noise, and moving equipment. Use of PPE is required during site visits, and there is potential for exposure to low-level radiation consistent with a uranium mining environment.
