Job summary

Copper Run is seeking an internship in Columbus for current juniors and seniors, offering hands-on exposure to buy-side and sell-side M&A deal work. This 2027 Spring internship is 100% on-site, part-time, and designed to build practical finance skills and professional relationships in a fast-paced investment banking environment.

You'll support the deal team, conduct market research, help evaluate targets, and develop marketing materials while gaining access to leadership and meaningful work.

Qualifications

• College-level coursework in finance, accounting, marketing, sales, business administration, or related field.
• Prior work experience where you excelled in duties (not necessarily industry-related).
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Excellent team player mentality with effective oral and written communications.
• Curiosity and commitment to learning.
• Fundamental understanding of financial statements a plus.
• Experience with Excel, Word and PowerPoint; ability to learn company software quickly.
• GPA preference of 3.5 or higher.

Responsibilities

• Support the deal team in driving engagements forward.
• Conduct market research to identify acquisition targets and gather contact information.
• Assist with evaluating targets and their fit to the client’s strategy.
• Assist with direct outreach to generate deal conversations with executives.
• Input and maintain target/prospect data in the CRM for accuracy.
• Develop marketing materials such as letters, teasers and pitch decks.
• Sit in on calls to learn how to communicate with clients and prospects.
