Job summary

Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. is seeking a Buy Side Execution Trader for its Oppenheimer Asset Management division.

The role focuses on executing trades across Fixed Income, Equity, ETF, Option, and Mutual Funds within wrap-fee programs and coordinating with internal and external platforms and money managers. The ideal candidate will have a BA/BS in finance, 2+ years of relevant experience, and FINRA registrations (Series 7, 63, 57).

Qualifications

• BA/BS in finance or a related field is required.
• Active/Current FINRA registrations: Series 7, Series 63 and Series 57.
• 2+ years of relevant work experience.
• Ability to exercise good judgement.
• Excellent communication skills: verbal, written and interpersonal.
• PC skills including Microsoft Office with proficiency in Excel.
• Trading systems including MarketAxess, Tradeweb, Tradeweb Direct, ICE, Bloomberg, Fidessa, Vestmark.

Responsibilities

• Execute Fixed Income, Equity, ETF, Option, and Mutual Funds for OAM’s Wrap-fee programs.
• Interact with in-house OMS and order routing platforms for Fixed Income orders.
• Interact with Fixed Income ECNs and dealers to facilitate execution.
• Coordinate with Money Managers on trading and trade-related issues.
• Collaborate with OAM Middle-office, Reconciliation and Client Services on trade breaks.
• Participate in ad-hoc projects related to trading operations.

Job Description

Oppenheimer Asset Management (OAM), a division of Oppenheimer, is seeking a Buy Side Execution Trader. Oppenheimer is committed to providing our clients and their investment professionals with exceptional service and support, combined with expertise across multiple disciplines, asset classes, investment vehicles and investing styles. OAM operates its own Trading Desk to support the strategies and portfolios offered by OAM through its various investment programs including accounts with an external and internal (Rep. as advisor) investment advisors. These are portfolios can consist of equities, ETFs, options, mutual funds and debt securities. The primary role of the Trader will be to interact with the various investment managers and execute orders across all asset classes for the wrap/fee accounts under management in the program, with a focus on the fixed income markets.

Job Responsibilities

• Execution of Fixed Income, Equity, ETF, Option, and Mutual Funds for OAM’s Wrap-fee programs.
• Interacting with in-house electronic OMS and order routing platforms for Fixed Income order execution.
• Interacting with Fixed Income ECN’s and dealers to facilitate execution.
• Interacting with both in-house and external Money Managers regarding trading and trade related issues.
• Interacting with OAM Middle-office, Reconciliation and Client Services groups on trade breaks and related clearing issues as warranted.
• Participate in ad-hoc projects related to trading operations as needed.

Requirements

• BA/BS preferably in finance or a related field.
• Active/Current FINRA Registrations: Series 7, Series 63 and Series 57.
• 2+ years of relevant work experience

Compensation

For job postings in New York City, Oppenheimer is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role. This salary range is specific to the City of New York and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making salary decisions including but not limited to your skills, qualifications, experience licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range is $100,000.00 - $125,000.00 at the time of this posting. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as discretionary bonus.
