Job summary

Quanex in Jackson, GA is hiring a Butyl Mixing Operator II for 2nd shift (M-Th 4p-2a). You will weigh raw materials and add them to the mixer per recipe loaded into the computer, ensuring accurate batch prep and traceability.

This role emphasizes safety, 6S standards, and teamwork; responsibilities include operating and calibrating equipment, documenting batch records, changeovers, and cross-training on multiple mixers; the company offers tuition assistance, training, PTO, and stock purchase

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift a minimum of 55 lbs.
• Able to stand/walk/bend/push/pull for extended periods.
• Work hours established by department management including 8–12-hour shifts, holidays, and weekends as needed to meet customer demands.
• 1 year manufacturing experience preferred

Responsibilities

• weigh raw materials and add them to the mixer according to the recipe pre-loaded in the computer.
• follow batch card and JQTL instructions as written.
• properly collect, package, and clearly label raw materials, production components, and other samples.
• document batch records accurately.
• label secondary containers and finished goods correctly.
• input/scan raw materials for batching.
• operate, calibrate, and maintain equipment according to manuals to ensure data accuracy.
• perform changeovers and end-of-run cleanouts.
• cross-train on multiple mixers in the butyl work cell.
• maintain 6S standards in the work area.
• communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
