Job summary

Quanex is hiring a Butyl Mixing Operator II in Jackson, GA for 1st Shift (Mon–Fri, 6am–2pm). The role weighs raw materials and adds them to the mixer per pre-loaded recipes.

Responsibilities include batch documentation, labeling, materials input, equipment calibration, and completing changeovers while maintaining safety and 6S standards. The company offers tuition assistance, training and development, PTO/holidays from day one, and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift a minimum of 55 lbs.
• Extended standing, walking, bending, climbing, stairs and ladders.

Responsibilities

• Obtain/Maintain Forklift and Aerial Certification.
• Follow batch card and JQTL instructions as written.
• Properly collect, package, and clearly label raw materials, production components, and other samples.
• Document batch records and label finished goods clearly.
• Input/Scan raw materials for batching.
• Operate, maintain, and calibrate equipment to ensure accurate test data.
• Perform changeovers and end-of-run cleanouts.
• Cross-train on multiple mixers in the butyl work cell.
• Communicate with co-workers, leads, and manager in a timely manner.
• Maintain 6S standards in the work area.
