Job summary

Dairy Challenge in Kentucky is seeking a detail-oriented Churn Operator to join our production team. You will monitor and operate butter churns, ensure quality, texture, and taste meet our standards, and support packaging and reporting activities.

This on-site role emphasizes safe, clean work practices, teamwork, and reliable attendance in a fast-paced dairy environment. You will document production data, perform basic QC tests, and assist with cleanup and setup as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Production or general work experience preferred.
• Certification and/or License – may be required during course of employment.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor three butter churns to ensure efficient and consistent production.
• Assist with butter packaging, box assembly and stacking operations.
• Maintain accurate production reports and documentation.
• Perform quality control procedures, including testing and adjusting butterfat, moisture, and salt levels.
• Provide relief support in packaging and stacking areas to maintain continuous production flow.
• Assist in the clean-up of all butter production equipment and other duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor for safe, sanitary operation.
• Maintain churns in correct specs.
• Report any food safety and food quality issues to management immediately.
• Maintain safe working conditions and compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Follow DFA GMP and related regulatory requirements.
