Highland Butcher Shop is a woman owned, neighborhood, whole animal butcher shop located in Somerville, MA sourcing animals raised locally in New England. We fill our butcher case daily with fresh cuts, grinds, and house made sausages.

Job Description

We have a small but mighty team running the butcher shop and the ideal candidate will be a creative problem solver, collaborative team member, and excited about whole animal butchery and local agriculture. We are looking for someone who is interested in assisting customers in person and over the phone, helping to produce and create value added products for the shop, maintaining shop cleanliness, and filling in wherever needed. Qualifications include a strong work ethic, attention to detail, comfortability working in a fast paced environment and ability to lift heavy objects and be on their feet for long periods of time. Experience in hospitality or retail is a bonus. For the right candidate, we will train in whole animal butchery process into a full butcher as well.

The shop is currently open to the public 3 days a week, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday with Wednesday being our prep-day. Working hours are 10am-5pm Wednesday, 10am-8pm Thursday and Friday, and 9am-4pm on Saturday.
