Responsibilities

Joe V's Smart Shop, known as the small store that offers BIG savings, aims to create possibilities for our Customers and Partners through excellent service and value. Join us and combine your customer service skills with our commitment to 'lowest price, highest quality product.' As a Meat Cutter, you will help provide the freshest products through a well-stocked and maintained department, delivering great customer service with a sense of ownership and teamwork. Your daily tasks will include cutting, preparing, tray, and merchandising fresh meat products under supervision.

We are looking for:

• Minimum age 18 (mandatory)
• Willingness to stay attentive to customers' needs
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

Production Tasks:

• Cut, trim, tray, and scrape meat for display according to standards, assisted by a Meat Cutter I
• Operate equipment such as grinders, saws, knife sharpeners, tenderizers, and slicers
• Weigh, wrap, and label product packages for sale
• Rotate products in the meat cooler and sales floor, ensuring proper storage
• Maintain quality and freshness standards through effective communication
• Practice safety awareness and perform duties safely
• Assist in technical areas as needed

Customer Service:

• Provide excellent customer service through meat cutting and labeling
• Answer customer questions and assist with product selections

Food Safety / Sanitation:

• Clean and sanitize display cases and equipment
• Follow department, store, and regulatory procedures

Candidate Background:

• Minimum age 18
• Experience in fast-paced, high-volume environments
• Experience in customer service
• Completion of required training and compliance

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of JVSS Meat Cutter training aids and SOPs
• Understanding of product rotation and sanitation
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to flexible schedules

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, reach, grasp, and perform detailed tasks for extended periods
• Exposure to cold, wet conditions, loud noises, fumes, and airborne particles
• Ability to lift and manage weights over 90 lbs safely
• Ability to maneuver around mechanical parts and perform various physical movements
