A leading company in the hospitality industry is seeking a Bus Person to join their Food & Beverage department. This role is essential for ensuring a clean and efficient dining environment by assisting in table settings, clearing dishes, and providing excellent guest service. Applicants should have a high school diploma, teamwork skills, and the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends. The position offers a starting wage of $6.50/hr plus tips.
The Food & Beverage department is responsible for providing exceptional dining experiences and food and beverage services through our restaurants, Tiki bar, and in-room dining outlets.
Job Summary: The Bus Person is responsible for providing an efficient, quality presentation of the food and beverage outlets at all times. Regular duties include cleaning, setting up tables, and performing other food service related duties, as needed.
Essential Job Functions:
• Provides quality service to guests in an efficient and courteous manner.
• Assists servers and bartenders in setting up for service before the shift starts.
• Clears all used tableware and glassware from tables and transports items to the bus station.
• Wipes tables, chairs, and clears debris from floor areas surrounding the table.
• Resets tables with silverware, linen, napkins, and glassware in order to seat new customers as quickly as possible.
• Maintains a clean, presentable and attractive restaurant at all times.
• Retrieves clean linen and delivers bundles of used linen to the laundry room at the end of each shift.
• May assist with in room service orders by setting up room service trays/carts, delivering items to room, and receiving the correct payment or signature.
• Assists wait staff by refilling customers’ beverages and accommodating requests for additional condiments, food items or clean/fresh tableware.
• Cleans, stocks, and maintains the workstations throughout the shift.
• Performs related duties as requested by a manager at any time.
Education, Experience and Skill Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Similar experience in a restaurant or hotel preferred.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with guests and staff verbally and in written form.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Qualifications:
• Must be able to carry heavy tubs of tableware on a continuous basis throughout a shift.
• Requires the ability to bend, twist, and stand to perform normal job functions.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
In accordance with New Jersey State Legislature (New Jersey Legislature Bill S2310 Sca (1R)) which requires private employers with ten (10) or more employees to include a range of pay for all advertised jobs, promotion, or transfer opportunities. This position pays $6.50/hr plus tips dependent on experience.
