Position Summary

Delivers all food menu items and accurately describes them to the guests. Acts as a liaison between the servers, cocktail servers, bartenders, and chefs. Interacts with the dining room guests, fellow team members, and supervisors in a polite and courteous manner to ensure gracious hospitality.

Essential Functions of the Position Include, But Are Not Limited To:

  • Anticipate and accommodate all needs of the guests.
  • Provide professional and exceptional service.
  • Deliver and describe all food items to the guests, in a timely manner.
  • Participate in table maintenance and bussing of excess tableware.
  • Maintain general cleanliness of stations and the entire venue.
  • Follow supervisor’s instructions, communicate with and support co-workers, and be a team player.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of all food menus and the company.
  • Comply with Department of Health and company sanitation standards.
  • Communicate the needs of the guests to Front-of-House and Heart-of-House support team members, managers, and chefs.
  • Properly set-up runner's station, perform side-work, and other opening/closing procedures as directed by management.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Stock station with prescribed items and supplies.
  • Perform opening and closing side-work as prescribed.
  • Report all breakage and damage of equipment or furniture immediately to management.
  • Attend and participate in daily pre-service meetings and departmental training sessions.
  • Learn by listening, observing, and sharing knowledge; lead by example.
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Tao Group Hospitality, its partners, and supporting hotel environments.
  • Work as part of a team, providing help and support to all team members.
  • Assist with or complete additional tasks as assigned.

Training Requirements: Tao Group Hospitality in-venue food runner training.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous hospitality experience.
  • Previous food running experience.
  • Experience in a high-volume restaurant/nightclub/lounge.

Skills / Physical Demands / Work Environment / Schedule:

  • Ability to write and verbally communicate.
  • Positive energy throughout the day.
  • Legible printing for team members, management, and guests.
  • Ability to kneel, bend, and stand for extended periods.
  • Move quickly and push/lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Work in environments with noise, crowds, smoke; may include extended hours, irregular shifts, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Exposure to cleaning materials and hot kitchen elements.
  • Maintain a professional, neat appearance per company standards.
  • Interact professionally and courteously with internal and external customers.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle a fast-paced, stressful environment.
