Job description

The incumbent in this position is responsible for all activities pertaining to cleaning and maintenance of all food and beverage wares, kitchens, and service areas. The organization, sanitation, and cost of operations must align with the overall Food & Beverage goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

These functions are intended as a general illustration of the work performed in this job classification and are not all inclusive for this position.

  • Create an atmosphere that encourages guests to choose Hard Rock Casino Rockford for gaming entertainment; actively build and retain guest relations and mentor team members to provide superior guest service.
  • Greet guests and provide outstanding customer service.
  • Supply all necessary food items to maintain efficient operations.
  • Prepare and maintain food lines and self-service stations.
  • Transport food from kitchen to service areas.
  • Inform chefs of all prepared food items needed.
  • Assist in kitchen food preparation and dishwashing, ensuring ample dishes and utensils are available.
  • Monitor temperatures of all food in holding units.
  • Maintain food appearance and safety according to sanitation codes, rotating and handling food properly to ensure freshness.
  • Maintain beverage areas with necessary supplies.
  • Complete all setup duties punctually.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and appearance of the assigned area and kitchen.
  • Assist in main kitchen with dish preparation as required.
  • Be aware of daily served food items.
  • Rotate and inventory all food supplies.
  • Use proper transfer slips for kitchen inventory movement.
  • Organize dinner and dessert plates and bowls appropriately.
  • Manage storage and rotation of food supplies.
  • Interact positively with guests to enhance their experience.
  • Bus tables after guest meals and maintain 15-20 tables.
  • Transport dish carts to and from service stations.
  • Maintain cleanliness in server stations and dining areas.
  • Follow cash handling policies and procedures.
  • Clear dishes and glassware during and after courses, and refill drinks as needed.
  • Perform opening and closing duties diligently.
  • Check and maintain equipment, adhering to preventative maintenance schedules, and report repairs.
  • Collaborate considerately with team members across departments.
  • Notify supervisor when supplies or guest needs require attention.
  • Check with supervisor before ending shift.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Attend seminars when necessary.
Qualifications

EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :

Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year-for-year basis.

  • High School diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
  • Ability to read and write English required.
  • One-year guest service experience in a family or formal dining environment preferred; Casino Food & Beverage experience preferred.
  • Must have valid Food Handlers Card, Liquor License, and IGC Badge when working.
  • Obtain and maintain all necessary licenses/certifications per Federal, State, and Illinois Gaming Commission regulations.
  • Pass background check and drug screening.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Availability to work holidays, weekends, and flexible shifts.
