Busser – Little Ruby’s Café SoHo

Pay: $16.50/hour (before tip credit) + tips

Little Ruby’s Café SoHo is seeking a friendly, hardworking Busser to join our front-of-house team. If you’re passionate about hospitality and thrive in a fast-paced environment, this is a great opportunity to grow with a vibrant and beloved NYC café.

What You’ll Do

1. Assist servers by supporting smooth and efficient guest service throughout the dining room.
2. Clear, clean, and reset tables quickly and professionally.
3. Deliver and refill water promptly, either upon guest request or as directed by servers.
4. Maintain cleanliness of tables, chairs, banquettes, and service stations during and after service.
5. Set tables with proper place settings and ensure stations are fully stocked.
6. Support the team by communicating guest needs to servers, chefs, and managers.
7. Participate in table marking and course service when needed.
8. Perform opening and closing side work including setup and breakdown of the dining room.
9. Uphold Department of Health and company sanitation standards at all times.
10. Report any broken equipment or damage to management immediately.

What We’re Looking For

1. Previous experience as a busser or in a similar front-of-house role preferred.
2. Experience working in a high-volume restaurant, café, lounge, or nightlife venue is a plus.
3. A Food Handler’s Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
4. Ability to stay calm and focused in a busy, ever-changing environment.
5. Must be able to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs for extended periods.
6. Must be comfortable performing repetitive tasks and working near cleaning supplies or kitchen elements.
7. Flexible schedule including availability for days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
8. A positive attitude, professional demeanor, and strong sense of teamwork.
