Job Description

The Busser position is a central and vital part of the service. Bussers support team members by acting proactively before, during, and after service. Tasks include, but are not limited to, cleaning and resetting tables, ensuring the availability of flatware and plates, and bringing guest needs to the attention of the server. This position will also restock necessary items, such as napkins and straws, and may assist with washing dishes. Efficiency, attentiveness, and strong customer service skills are required.

Responsibilities
  1. Prepare the dining room for customers by cleaning and setting tables, including decorations, condiments, candles, napkins, service plates, and utensils.
  2. Ensure the floor is free of debris and all seats are wiped before guests’ arrival.
  3. Maintain menu presentation by keeping all menus clean and replacing damaged or soiled pages.
  4. Maintain table settings by removing dirty flatware and debris as courses are completed, replenishing utensils, and refilling water glasses.
  5. Support server team by setting-up and replenishing condiment stands, trash containers, and bus stations.
  6. Close dining areas by cleaning chairs and tables, sweeping or vacuuming floors, and removing trash and recyclables.
  7. Participate in staff training to update job knowledge.
  8. Adhere to sanitation and safety policies at all times.
  9. Participate in ongoing training about food and beverage knowledge and service steps.
  10. Provide excellent customer service by proactively anticipating guest needs and interacting appropriately.
  11. Respond to guest inquiries and report issues to the server or manager.
  12. Focus on guest satisfaction and continuous improvement.
Requirements
  1. 2+ years experience as a Busser or Food Runner.
  2. Outgoing personality with a desire to provide excellent customer service.
  3. Clear communication skills in English and preferably Spanish.
  4. Customer-focused and team-oriented with a positive attitude.
  5. Flexible to work various shifts including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  6. Knowledge of hygiene and food safety standards.
  7. Ability to multitask and stay calm in a fast-paced environment.
  8. Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  9. Responsible, punctual, and observant.
  10. Physical ability to perform duties, including standing for long periods and lifting heavy items.
