Job Title: Busser

Location: The Toasted Yolk Café, Dothan, Alabama

Job Summary: As a Busser, your job is to create an exceptional dining experience for our guests. You will wash dishes, clean, and prep quickly and efficiently. You will assist the cooks and servers by providing clean dishes, pots, pans, glasses, and silverware.

Working Hours: One shift only, no dinners! Hours are from 7 am to 3 pm. Most days you will be out by 4 pm to spend time with your family for dinner and on weekends!

Physical Requirements: Must be able to work in a busy, fast-paced, high-energy atmosphere and be on your feet for up to 10 hours. Must be able to lift 40 lbs.

Minimum Age: Must be 18 years or older and authorized to work in the U.S.

General Requirements
  1. Must be at least 18 years of age.
  2. Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
  3. Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, and wipe.
  4. Must be able to stand for long periods and move briskly.
  5. Must work well under stress and exercise good judgment with guest complaints.
  6. Must be on time in a company-approved uniform.
  7. Must maintain a professional appearance at all times.
  8. Must actively participate in daily huddles.
  9. Must possess excellent communication skills and be a customer service champion.
  10. Must effectively communicate with guests and team members.
  11. Must follow proper food handling, safety, sanitation, and cleaning standards.
  12. Must be knowledgeable of menu items, food quality standards, promotions, and daily specials.
  13. Must be knowledgeable of Food-to-Go procedures.
  14. Must work as a team with all staff and management.
  15. May be required to assist in other departments.
General Responsibilities
  1. Refer to the Daily Schedule for shift responsibilities.
  2. Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to Waitstaff.
  3. Perform a walk-through inspection of the dining room at the beginning of the shift.
  4. Prepare Floor Map and Waitstaff listing for management approval.
  5. Ensure total guest satisfaction during service.
  6. Assist with the transition to mid-shift if applicable.
  7. Greet guests in a timely and friendly manner.
  8. Fulfill guest needs and assist with special requests.
  9. Handle guest concerns and complaints professionally.
  10. Ensure a great dining experience by following the GOLDEN Rules of service.
  11. Communicate with management regarding guest comments and complaints.
  12. Monitor and ensure compliance with cleaning procedures.
  13. Monitor shift close-out by Waitstaff and check all server stations.
  14. Communicate any product, equipment, or operational issues to management.
  15. Wash hands frequently.
  16. Assist management for efficient cafe operation.
  17. Follow Daily Departmental Closing Procedures.
