Job summary

Out West Restaurant Group in Daly City, CA is hiring for an Outbacker in a service role earning $17.50 per hour plus tips. This position is hourly and non-exempt, focusing on delivering a memorable dining experience, bussing and maintaining tables, upselling, and providing friendly service to every guest.

You will work with a team, ensure safety and cleanliness, and have opportunities for growth through the Shift Leader program. California wage and benefit provisions apply.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Able to work in hot and cold environments.
• Stand for up to 8 hours per shift.
• Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, squatting and stooping.
• Handle glassware, utensils and technology systems with dexterity.
• Move quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• California RBS certification required within 60 days of start.

Responsibilities

• Bussing, cleaning and resetting tables; address cleanliness and service needs.
• Know menu and upsell products to guests.
• Answer phones promptly and professionally.
• Support all areas of the restaurant as needed; WOW guests.
• Adhere to safe food handling, cleanliness and sanitation standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• You'll be a team player responsible for bussing, cleaning, and properly resetting tables, as well as addressing any cleanliness or service needs in public areas, to keep the guest experience running smoothly.
• You will have a general knowledge of our food and drink menu and be able to recommend and upsell products.
• Will answer the phones in a prompt and professional manner and direct calls as applicable.
• Demonstrates teamwork by supporting all areas of the restaurant as business needs arise. Ensuring every opportunity to WOW our guests is fulfilled. Teamwork is essential and expected of all Outbackers.
• Committed to safe food handling, cleanliness, sanitation standards and all safety procedures during the shift.

REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to lift, carry or move up to 30 lbs.
• Able to work in hot and cold environments.
• Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time, up to 8 hours per shift.
• Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, squatting and stooping.
• Manual dexterity to handle glassware, utensils and technology systems.
• Ability to move quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• Visual ability to include distance, close, color, depth and peripheral. Also, the ability to adjust focus as needed. The role involves working in areas with low or dim lighting.
• Ability to perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
