Job summary

University of Florida in Gainesville invites applications for a full-time, 9-month Assistant-In Teaching faculty position focused on business writing. The role staffs breakout sections of GEB2216 under supervision of lead instructors, with potential summer teaching opportunities and full benefits.

The candidate must hold a Master’s degree or higher in an appropriate area or equivalent qualifications and have college-level teaching experience in business writing.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in an appropriate area (Communication, English, etc.), or master’s degree or higher in an unrelated area with a bachelor’s degree in appropriate area and relevant training or experience in appropriate area.
• Experience teaching business writing at the college level.

Responsibilities

• Teach and staff four breakout sections per semester (each 50-minute class, twice weekly).
• Grade assignments and provide prompt, high-quality feedback.
• Coach students one-on-one during office hours.
• Work with curriculum developed by the lead instructor.
• Follow guidance on grading, curriculum, and lesson plans.
