Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business/Marketing/Finance required; MBA preferred.
  • Pharmaceutical Sales, Marketing, and Market Access leadership experience preferred.
  • Experience leading large organizations with P&L responsibility and inclusion-focused leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Own overall national sales strategy and lead execution to meet EI sales objectives.
  • Stand up business capabilities to support long-term EI success after strategic separation.
  • Develop a long-term strategic vision to extend market leadership in EI.
  • Lead market access, pricing strategies, contracting, and payer engagement.
  • Build and mentor the EI Leadership team and drive stakeholder engagement.
  • Develop sales compensation framework and align with finance for business plans.

Job Description

Johnson and Johnson is currently recruiting for a Business Unit Leader, Early Intervention within the DePuy Synthes MedTech organization. Early Intervention (EI) is a unique business within Orthopedics, which focuses on the early-stage non-surgical treatment of Osteoarthritis. This business is the market leader in its field with over 500,000 patients treated every year.

This is a hybrid role available in multiple locations, however remote work options may be considered on a case-by-case basis and if approved by the Company. While specific cities are listed in the Locations section for reference, please note that they are examples only and do not limit your application. Responsibilities
  • Own overall national sales strategy and lead all aspects of execution of strategy to achieve overall Early Intervention sales objectives.
  • Stand up business capabilities to support and drive long term success of the EI business, following the separation from Johnson and Johnson.
  • Develop a long-term strategic vision and strategy for the Early Intervention business to continue to extend market leadership position.
  • Responsible for market access and pricing strategies, including contracting, payor and large customer value proposition and engagement and development and execution of platform advocacy and policy strategy.
  • Develop, mentor, lead and engage Early Intervention Leadership team and their organizations to provide value and leadership through outstanding partner engagement, which includes communicating, influencing, and providing comprehensive solutions.
  • Build, analyze, develop and implement sales compensation framework and strategy.
  • Collaborate with Finance to build Gross, Net and Field Sales Business Plans.
  • Develop comprehensive Early Intervention expense budget, ensuring sales and supporting activities are within established budget objectives.
  • Review sales performance for overall business with, Presidents, VPs of Sales and Area Vice Presidents to identify areas for improvement and carry out corrective action.
  • Build and maintain strong culture within organization that is fully defined and recognized by each level of the organization, with a focus on Inclusion.
  • Lead and optimize the direct and indirect sales organizations.
Qualifications / Requirements
  • Minimum of Bachelor's level degree is required; Business/Marketing/Finance related degree is preferred. MBA degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 12 years of relevant experience, with a minimum of five years of people leadership.
  • Pharmaceutical Sales, Marketing, and Market Access Leadership experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in Orthopedics is preferred.
  • Experience with direct-to-patient (DTP) and patient activation strategies is preferred.
  • Proven leadership capability including the ability to lead through change.
  • Track record of success working within a large organizational environment; enterprise approach to decision-making.
  • Solid understanding of customer, business intelligence and industry trends.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability to manage a P&L ensuring achievement of revenue, profitability, and cash flow targets while supporting long-term business growth.
  • Strong business & financial acuity in understanding the needs and priorities of the broader business with a penchant for understanding the use of metrics/numbers to gauge overall performance.
  • Demonstrated track record as a Talent Champion in coaching, developing, retaining, acquiring and building a diverse pipeline of future talent.
  • Excellent listening, written, and oral communications skills; excellent organizational skills along with the ability to make presentations with positive results.
  • Up to 50% domestic travel will be required.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

$178,000.00 - $307,050.00

Additional Description For Pay Transparency

Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).

This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.

Benefits
  • Vacation –120 hours per calendar year
  • Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado –48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington –56 hours per calendar year
  • Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays –13 days per calendar year
  • Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
  • Parental Leave – 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child
  • Bereavement Leave – 240 hours for an immediate family member: 40 hours for an extended family member per calendar year
