Qualifications

As a travel counselor, you will provide outstanding customer service to corporate travelers before, during, and after their business trips. Through our innovative technology and dedicated team, we focus on making the travel experience memorable and seamless from start to finish.

Position overview

We seek elite, experienced travel counselors with energy, VIP experience, and a global mindset to join our new 24x7 Follow the Sun, Global VIP Elite team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new, high-demand offering at CWT.

Traveler Experience Operations (TX) is looking for positive, energetic, customer-focused senior travel counselors to join our VIP team, forming the North American squad of a global team operating 24x7x365, serving high-level travelers worldwide.

This global team, with members in North America, Europe, and Asia, provides comprehensive travel services for our most important clients.

Daily responsibilities
  • Create and complete complex travel requests (air, hotel, car, rail) for high-touch accounts and top-tier travelers, including VIP and specialty trips.
  • Proactively offer the best options based on client policies and traveler needs.
  • Act as a trusted advisor with informed recommendations for optimal traveler experience.
  • Follow client travel policies accurately.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • Manage first-level complaints/escalations pre-travel or during trip.
  • Resolve complex issues like non-standard itineraries, fare changes, and multi-destination bookings.
  • Assist team members proactively in problem resolution and learning.
  • Maintain correct grammar and professional tone in all interactions.
  • Show patience, empathy, and understanding during contacts.
  • Work effectively as part of a global team, collaborating across borders.
  • Possibly serve as an SME with specific client or GDS/system knowledge.
  • Support general travel needs as required by company or client priorities.
  • Adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Contribute ideas and feedback to leadership.
  • Sell products that add value and contribute to profitability, aligned with customer needs.
  • Handle both routine and complex tasks.

Qualifications

We’re looking for candidates with the ability to thrive in a high-touch, complex, global environment, and who are motivated and customer-focused. The role requires working shifts from 8am to 7pm, seven days a week, including holidays, with shift premiums.

Experience Required
  • High School diploma
  • 7+ years in customer service, with 5+ years as a travel counselor
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong knowledge of the travel industry, policies, and complex reservations
  • Impeccable customer service skills and accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Positive, flexible, team-oriented mindset
  • Attention to detail
  • Active listening and information gathering skills
  • Solutions-oriented, proactive approach
  • Specialist experience in VIP or specialty travel
  • Proficiency with Sabre GDS and other relevant technologies
  • Ability to adapt to technological changes
  • Flexible working hours, including nights, weekends, holidays
  • Computer literacy, typing at least 35 WPM

Military experience or certifications may substitute for some requirements.
