POSITION SUMMARY:

This person is responsible for leading the day-to-day distributionactivities to achieve performance goals in the areas or safety, quality, cost, and delivery, in a high performing work team environment. Must be capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams and department leaders to address concerns and issues that affect safety, part quality, production efficiency, continuous improvement, etc. The Production Supervisor will also have exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and management skills, demonstrating the ability to be an innovator and change agent.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Provide leadership for all activities for shipping and receiving areas and the team members. Communicate with other shifts to ensure consistency and meet priorities.
• Drives operations to ensure safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and budget goals are achieved.
• Establish strong and effective working relationships that are conducive to maintaining a positive work environment.
• Ensure that team members are trained, in accordance to the Training Policy, understand their roles and responsibilities, and are given appropriate performance feedback.
• Communicate with team members providing positive feedback when appropriate and addressing disciplinary actions when necessary. Hold daily start up meetings.
• Resolve personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; and recommending actions to department manager and human resources.
• Maintain team member attendance using time and attendance system daily to ensure proper points and payroll accuracy.
• Promote and drives the organizations vision and utilization of KPS (Lean Manufacturing) methodologies.
• Promote and drive continuous improvement by collecting loss data and reviewing frequently.
• Provide operations information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; answering questions and responding to requests.
• Promote team work and maintain strong, positive employee relations.
• Ensure compliance with all company procedures and policies; address issues and lack of compliance.
• Maintain shop floor engagement and presence to ensure employee and customer needs are met. Expected to spend 80% of time in the production area.
• Work closely with team members across departments to establish priorities ensuring on-time shipments to customers, meeting quality expectations, and other activities as needed.
• Understand and adhere to current company health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures, including ISO14001. Is empowered to identify, stop, and communicate or escape appropriate action in regard to safety, health, and environmental concerns.
• Understand current company quality policies and procedures, including IATF16949. Is empowered to identify, stop, and communicate or escape appropriate action in regard to product quality.
• Perform other duties as assigned. Including coverage in other departments/shifts as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, or other similar field, preferred.
• Two years experience supervising a team of 20 or more in a manufacturing environment with lean methodologies.
• Demonstrated experience in motivating and leading people and driving a positive work environment is required.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Statistical evaluation software familiarity a plus.
• Demonstrated strong problem solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques with emphasis on Standardized Work, Continuous Improvement, 5S, and JIT principles.
• Ability to work overtime as needed both daily and weekend.

The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in Huntington, IN is $65,100-$97,700 per year. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry and education. Bendix Comercial Vehicle Systems LLC is a multi-state employer, and this pay scale may not reflect positions that work in other states or locations. Provided they meet all eligibility requirements under the applicable plan documents, employees (and their eligible dependents) will be eligible to enroll in group healthcare plans that offer medical, dental, vision, and basic life and disability insurance. Employees also will be able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan. Employees will also receive 120 hours of vacation leave and 40 hours of Personal Paid Absence every year. Employees will also enjoy 12 paid holidays, and 1 floating holiday throughout the calendar year, subject to relevant terms outlined in the employee handbook. 6 weeks of paid parental leave will also be available for use. Requirements for these benefits will be controlled by applicable plan documents and policies. Employees working on federal contracts covered by the Federal Paid Sick Leave requirements will be notified and will receive benefits consistent and compliant with the FPSL requirements. Hired applicant will be able to purchase company stock, subject to the relevant plan documents and annual bonuses based on achievement of certain metrics of up to 4% of annual salary.
