Business Tax Analyst - Work From Home - 3+ Yrs Paid Tax Experience Required

If you are highly motivated with business tax preparation experience and excellent communication skills, we need you to help our customers complete their taxes using TurboTax Business products.

The successful candidate will manage complex business tax returns for Partnerships and S Corporations, possessing strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations, along with significant experience in preparing and filing business and personal tax returns.

What you'll bring
  • Strong business tax preparation experience with extensive knowledge of tax laws, evidenced by 3+ years of recent experience preparing federal and state business tax returns (1065 and/or 1120-S) for at least 20 clients per season using commercial tax software.
  • Minimum of 2 seasons of personal tax preparation experience, with at least 30 returns per year, preferred.
  • Availability to work at least 20 hours per week, spread over three or more days.
  • Bookkeeping experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience preparing business tax returns for service industry clients is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to obtain any necessary state licenses, certificates, permits, or bonds.
  • Active Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN).
  • Knowledge of Circular 230.
  • Proficiency with technology, computer operations, and software.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally via video and audio tools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Critical thinking, problem-solving, research skills, and determination.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to meet internet security criteria.
  • Residency in the United States.
How you will lead
  • This is a virtual, customer-facing role using our video communication software (Smartlook).
  • Assist TurboTax Business customers with:

o Tax advice

o Full-service business return preparation and signing

o Product/software inquiries

o Tax calculations

o Filing tax extensions

  • Create high-quality customer interactions that instill confidence through empathy, knowledge, and expertise in business tax preparation.
  • Leverage government websites, professional resources, and team expertise to provide accurate answers in accessible language.
  • Follow defined practices, procedures, and policies to troubleshoot and resolve customer issues.
  • Document customer interactions thoroughly.
  • Work towards meeting key performance metrics and company goals.
  • Participate in pilot testing, projects, and validations as needed.
