Our team is headquartered in NYC and offers hybrid positions.

About The Role

We’re looking for a senior individual contributor to own the architecture and ongoing health of Betterment’s GTM systems ecosystem, with Salesforce at the center and a growing set of surrounding integrations. This staff‑level technical leadership role goes well beyond system administration or ticket fulfillment and focuses on problem solving, setting technical direction, and raising the bar for GTM systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the GTM systems architecture, define target architecture, maintain canonical architecture, and drive the stack toward it.
  • Define and maintain system‑of‑record boundaries, key data domains, integration patterns, and architecture decision records.
  • Design and build scalable solutions for cross‑system initiatives, owning them from problem framing through deployment.
  • Audit the health of the stack: integration reliability, data integrity, technical debt, security posture, permissions, auditability, platform limits, and drive remediation.
  • Review and guide solution designs across the Business Systems & Tools team, provide guardrails, and improve scalability and maintainability.
  • Establish and evangelize standards for integration patterns, data design, deployment practices, release governance, and documentation.
  • Mentor engineers on architecture and technical decision-making.
  • Partner with Sales, BAS, B@W stakeholders to deeply understand workflows, frame problems, evaluate tradeoffs, and translate needs into system designs.
  • Serve as resident thought leader on GTM systems, track market trends, proactively bring new approaches, and pressure‑test vendor claims.
  • Collaborate with Data and Product/Engineering teams on system integration, data contracts, and data integrity.
  • Lead high‑priority or high‑risk initiatives that span multiple tools, teams, or business processes.
  • Lead technical diligence and implementation architecture for new tools and major platform changes.
Salary

Qualifications

  • Experience owning architecture for a multi‑tool GTM stack in a B2B or SaaS environment, designing integrations, defining data flows, and managing dependencies.
  • Strong understanding of integration design patterns: APIs, middleware, event‑driven flows, and their implications.
  • Experience with HubSpot, marketing automation, and sales engagement platforms; experience with Clay or similar signal‑based automation platforms is a plus.
  • Strong data literacy: define data contracts, validate data across systems, and partner with data and analytics teams.
  • Strong judgment on permissions, auditability, release risk, and data governance.
  • A track record of staff‑level or lead IC technical leadership, setting direction, reviewing designs, and raising quality without formal management authority.
  • Proven ability to own ambiguous, high‑stakes projects from discovery to deployment and adoption.
  • Experience defining durable architecture artifacts and operating mechanisms.
  • Experience running or contributing to vendor evaluations, platform migrations, technical diligence, security considerations, and implementation planning.
  • Strong consultative mindset, clear communication, and ability to translate between technical and business audiences.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Nice to Have
  • Salesforce architect‑track certifications.
  • Experience with AI‑driven GTM workflows, automated enrichment, outbound orchestration, conversation intelligence writing back to CRM.
