Illinois Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT) is seeking a qualified Business Analyst to support the Illinois State Police, conducting in-depth assessments of business processes and modeling to drive transformation. The role involves writing user stories, use cases, and specifications while coordinating workshops with stakeholders and users to capture requirements across the full SDLC.

Ideal candidates will have three years of IT experience in Applications Services, strong process design

Qualifications

• Requires four years of college coursework in computer science or related field.
• Three years of professional IT experience in Applications Services or related field.
• Experience applying SDLC to analyze, design, develop, test, and implement complex applications.
• Experience defining and modeling business processes and requirements.
• Ability to work with relational databases and development tools (SQL/Oracle, Visual Studio, .Net).

Responsibilities

• Develops user stories, use cases, and program specifications; supports testing, training, and system implementation.
• Leads workshops with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate results into deliverables.
• Collaborates with DoIT technical staff; oversees planning, coordination, and quality assurance on complex initiatives.
• Analyzes data and processes to improve requirements gathering, data modeling, and documentation.
• Maintains current knowledge of IT developments through training and conferences.
