Overview

Business Systems Analyst II (Remote Opportunity) - Discover a role that empowers some of life’s most important healthcare decisions.

Job Description

As a Business System Analyst II, you will serve as the bridge between business stakeholders and the technical software engineering team responsible for the implementation of our cloud-based enterprise Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) which handles the generation, analysis, quality control, and interpretation of clinical data produced by diagnostic NGS assays. You will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, and documenting scientific and technical requirements, and will assume a key role in ensuring requirements are translated into effective technical solutions.

The ideal candidate will bring at least 3 years of business systems analysis experience, preferably in a regulated scientific or healthcare environment, with strong skills in requirement gathering, process documentation, and stakeholder communication.

This is a salaried position with occasional weekend work to satisfy project timelines. This position can work 100% remote and may require up to 10% travel. Candidates must be located in the US and available during Eastern and Central business hours.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with laboratory SMEs, scientists, and business stakeholders to capture, document and translate scientific requirements into functional specifications used by software engineers to develop StarLIMS solutions.
  • Work closely with QA, laboratory SMEs, and business units to verify developed solutions meet intended requirements.
  • Create and manage epics and stories in Jira that capture business and technical requirements and define acceptance criteria for software validation teams.
  • Create and manage process flow diagrams and other visual references within Confluence that illustrate requirements.
  • Contribute to team-wide technical standards by maintaining detailed and up-to-date technical documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Support the planning and execution of software validation and user acceptance activities and facilitate stakeholder approval of upcoming releases.
  • Analyze laboratory workflows and identify opportunities for automation, efficiency, and compliance optimizations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to help resolve production issues and evaluate system enhancements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst or similar role.
  • Experience in laboratory, healthcare, or regulated environments strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC and software validation practices.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written in English, with the ability to translate technical information for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal direct supervision in a multi-disciplined environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with StarLIMS or other enterprise laboratory information management systems.
  • Direct experience with laboratory workflows and compliance standards (CLIA, CAP, FDA).
  • Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, and similar project management tools.
