The Business Systems Analyst I supports the configuration, maintenance, and enhancement of HR enterprise applications. This entry-level role works under the guidance of senior team members and plays a vital part in supporting HR systems, resolving production issues, assisting with testing and documentation, and delivering excellent customer service. The position requires developing technical proficiency, strong problem-solving abilities, and a customer-first mindset to meet the evolving needs of the Human Resources department. Key Responsibilities
System Configuration & Process Support
- Assist in implementing and maintaining low to moderately complex business processes within HR enterprise applications.
- Support system configuration tasks including data updates, workflow adjustments, and rule modifications under guidance.
- Participate in documenting configuration settings, validation rules, and business process flows.
- Work alongside senior analysts to understand application and reporting tool functionality.
- Develop familiarity with HR processes such as onboarding, performance, compensation, and position management.
Testing & Quality Assurance
- Assist in planning and executing test cases for new features, enhancements, and system updates.
- Document testing results and report issues or inconsistencies for resolution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate system changes meet business requirements.
- Participate in regression testing and post-deployment verification during system updates.
Production Support & Troubleshooting
- Provide first-line support for HR system issues and service requests, escalating complex issues as needed.
- Troubleshoot system errors and identify root causes under supervision.
- Document support cases and resolutions to aid knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
- Assist in implementing changes through formal change control processes.
Customer Service & End-User Support
- Deliver timely, accurate support to HR and organizational end users, demonstrating excellent customer service.
- Monitor open service tickets to ensure adherence to SLAs.
- Follow up with users to ensure satisfaction and resolution effectiveness.
- Contribute to user guides, training materials, and knowledge articles.
Collaboration & Process Improvement
- Participate in discussions to identify opportunities for process and system improvements.
- Support mapping current and future state business processes with senior team members.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across HR, Payroll, and IT to ensure consistent system usage and reporting.
Professional Development & Team Engagement
- Build technical and functional knowledge through ongoing training and participation in departmental meetings.
- Attend vendor education sessions and internal seminars to enhance system knowledge.
- Foster positive relationships across teams, contributing to a collaborative team culture.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent education and experience.
- 0+ years of experience in a related discipline.
Preferred Skills
- Basic understanding of databases, programming languages, and SDLC. Familiarity with system architectures and data modeling is a plus.
- Ability to analyze business processes, suggest improvements, and support change initiatives.
- Strong problem-solving skills, ability to support testing, and documentation.
- Commitment to positive customer service and adaptability.
- Understanding of business operations and interest in system solutions aligned with business goals.

Compensation
- Starting pay range: $55,786 - $69,077 annually, based on FTE status.
