Business Systems Analyst (Guidewire Pricing Module)

Zurich Canada is currently looking for a Business Systems Analyst (BSA) with experience in the Guidewire Pricing Module to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in analyzing business requirements and translating them into effective solutions within the Guidewire platform. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the enhancement and optimization of our insurance systems while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

This is a Hybrid role.

What you will do:
  1. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and enhance the Guidewire pricing module, specifically focusing on Commercial lines of business.
  2. Coordinate with business owners to gather requirements through interviews and sessions for projects and enhancements.
  3. Analyze requirements to assess systems’ potential and impacts on other units. Provide input to development efforts.
  4. Create process models to evaluate the completeness of information and processes.
  5. Provide cost/benefit analysis, risk assessments, and scope definitions for proposed requirements.
  6. Guide users in building business cases and perform impact analysis. Support testing, implementation, and training.
  7. Lead project tasks affecting multiple business and IT departments.
  8. Evaluate project impacts through consultations with various teams.
  9. Support system configuration and integration testing to ensure requirements are met.
  10. Manage work plans, timelines, and budgets, prioritizing projects based on feedback and ROI.
  11. Perform business process modeling and re-engineering to ensure completeness.
  12. Utilize UML tools to create Use Cases, Class, and Sequence Diagrams.
  13. Mentor team members in technology and application delivery.
  14. Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze requirements for Guidewire enhancements.
  15. Translate business requirements into technical specifications and design documents.
  16. Configure, customize, and test Guidewire applications to align with business needs.
  17. Provide support during system implementations and upgrades.
  18. Participate in integration testing, user acceptance testing, and deployment.
  19. Troubleshoot issues related to Guidewire applications and stay updated on industry trends.
What you bring to the table:

Qualifications

Required

  1. Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or Engineering and 8 or more years of experience in the Information Technology area related to Guidewire pricing module.
  2. OR
  3. High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10 or more years of experience in the Information Technology area related to Guidewire pricing module.
  4. Process reengineering; LEAN/Six Sigma experience
  5. Experience with process modeling tools
  6. Insurance application system design/analysis experience
  7. Experience with use case development
  8. Experience with Rapid Application Development (RAD) tools/techniques

Preferred

  1. Guidewire certification(s) (e.g., Guidewire Certified Professional).
  2. Experience working on Guidewire pricing module, preferably implementing Commercial lines of business.
  3. Experience with Agile software development methodologies.
  4. Knowledge of insurance industry standards and regulations.
