Job description

Position Overview

Business Systems Analyst – Consulting, Sanctions/Data Analytics at PNC. Primary location: Birmingham, AL with availability in Pittsburgh, PA; Cleveland, OH; Dallas, TX.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a technical business analyst to provide solutions for IT and business management, applying technology to business opportunities and cross‑functional applications.
  • Identify, evaluate, and configure cost‑effective systems that meet business requirements.
  • Monitor client experiences and provide feedback on business applications, enhancing system productivity as needed.
  • Consult as a senior level advisor on process‑improvement projects to enhance internal business outcomes.
  • Analyze, define, and document client requirements; revise existing system logic as necessary.
  • Utilize tools and languages including SQL (complex queries, joins, data validation), PowerPoint, Tableau, Excel (dashboards, pivot, Power Query), Python (Pandas), Fircosoft, Actimize, World‑Check, REST/JSON/XML APIs, UML, Agile (JIRA, Confluence) and document in BRD, FRD, data dictionary, traceability matrix.
  • Perform data profiling (nulls, duplicates, outliers, pattern analysis).
  • Work in a collaborative environment, often requiring office presence; some duties may be performed remotely.
  • Visa sponsorship for employment visas or participation in STEM OPT is not provided.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent education, certification or experience, including military service).
  • Minimum 3+ years of relevant industry experience at a business analysis level.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency in SQL, data visualization tools, and basic Python.
  • Experience with screening tools (Fircosoft, Actimize, World‑Check) and regulatory compliance relevant to sanctions.
  • Familiarity with REST/JSON/XML APIs and data integration.
  • Experience working in Agile (JIRA, Confluence) and with SDLC, UAT.
Preferred Skills
  • Application Development, Business Management, Customer Solutions, Design, Group Problem Solving, Process Improvements, Release Management, Software Solutions.
  • UX Design.
Competencies

Certifications & Licenses
  • CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) certification preferred.

Work Experience

Roles at this level typically require 3+ years of relevant or direct industry experience. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job‑specific certification(s), and experience may be considered.

Pay Transparency

Base Salary: $55,000.00 – $120,750.00 (varies by location, market and individual skills, experience, and education). This role is incentive eligible.
