Job description

Peraton is hiring a Business Analyst to support critical missions within the VA Office of Mental Health and Suicide Prevention.

This is a 100% Remote position.

The Business Analyst (BA) will play a critical role in supporting technical focused solutions and behavioral health initiatives for the VA Safeguard to Prevent Veteran Suicide contract. The BA will bridge the gap between clinical teams, leadership, and technical partners. This position is responsible for gathering requirements, analyzing data, improving processes, and supporting the design and implementation of technical solutions that enhance access, quality, and efficiency of behavioral health care services. A strong emphasis is placed on candidates with knowledge of military and Veteran culture and familiarity with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) healthcare and suicide prevention systems. The BA ensures that clinical, operational, and compliance needs are translated into actionable strategies, tools, and workflows that are responsive to the unique needs of the Safeguard contract.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with behavioral health subject matter experts, program managers, and technical development staff to gather and document business requirements, workflows, and system needs pursuant to the contract.
  • Translate complex administrative, clinical, and operational requirements into clear functional and technical specifications.
  • Coordinate and assist team in conducting analyses to identify opportunities for improving behavioral health service delivery and Veteran suicide prevention outcomes through technical focused solutions.
  • Support data management, reporting, and visualization for clinical and technical performance metrics, regulatory requirements, and program evaluation specific to VA suicide prevention programs and community health systems as possible.
  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings, workshops, and focus groups with military, Veteran, and family populations to elicit feedback and align priorities.
  • Collaborate with developers, product managers, and project teams to ensure behavioral health solutions align with VA suicide prevention programs, policies, and compliance standards.
  • Monitor implementation progress, coordinate and conduct user acceptance testing, and provide post-deployment support for technical work product.
  • Document business processes, policies, and standard operating procedures on behalf of the Peraton Technical Focused Solutions team specific to VA Safeguard contract for inclusion in the Feasibility Analysis and Implementation Plan.
  • Assist in training, tracking, and coordinating customer points of contact as well as end users on mobile applications and artificial intelligence work product.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of military and Veteran culture, including familiarity with the challenges facing service members, Veterans, and their families.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience developing training systems.

Nice to Have Qualifications

  • Experience with VA healthcare systems, suicide prevention initiatives, or military behavioral health programs.
  • Experience with data analysis, reporting tools, project management software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Basic knowledge and facility in navigating technology focused solutions in behavioral health including but not limited to current use of mobile applications and artificial intelligence.
