Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Business Systems & AI Solutions Intern to support automation and process improvement within the SMIT Marine Corps & OCONUS team. You will work directly with MC&O leadership and cross-functional teams to enhance internal tools, streamline workflows and leverage AI to automate manual processes.

Responsibilities include enhancing reporting tools, maintaining tools, developing analytics to identify similar tasks, and researching technical services to support automation.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Strong Excel skills, including advanced formulas and macros.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multi-task, self-assign work, and operate in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• U.S. citizens able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.

The SMIT Marine Corps & OCONUS (MC&O) team is seeking a Business Systems & AI Solutions Intern to support automation and process improvement as part of the US Navy SMIT MC&O Team. This intern will work directly with MC&O leadership and cross-functional teams to enhance and integrate internal tools, streamline workflows, and leverage AI to automate manual processes where applicable.

Primary Responsibilities

• Enhance and integrate reporting tools, automation and AI
• Maintain and enhance internally developed tools
• Develop or support tools that analyze data to identify similar or analogous tasks
• Conduct targeted research on technical services to support automation

Basic Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field
• Strong Excel skills, including advanced formulas and macros
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to multi-task, self-assign work, and operate in a fast-paced proposal environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Candidates must be US citizens able to obtain and/or maintain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance as a condition of employment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with JavaScript, Visual Basic/VBA, and/or Python
• Experience applying AI or generative AI tools to business or analytical problems
• Familiarity with Salesforce, Power BI, SharePoint, or similar platforms
• Experience working with automation tools, data repositories, or legacy systems
• Ability to remain upbeat, positive, and constructive under high-pressure deadlines

Pay Range

Pay Range: $40,300.00 - $72,850.00
