Overview

We are looking for a business support specialist to join a fast-paced team! This career specialist will provide a professional level of operational and logistical support to Partnership Managers facilitating Compassion partnerships in Radio. This specialist will work independently in areas such as event logistics, process management, project management, customer service with external partners, business operations, contract generation, and information management.

The ideal candidate will be able to employ creative and efficient problem-solving skills, as well as be highly relational, responsible, adaptable, a team player, good communicator, and an inquisitive listener. A successful candidate will also have meticulous attention to detail and be able to work well under pressure. Good customer care skills are essential as well as being efficient at moving things along for time-sensitive deadlines.

This is a remote position, so this specialist will be expected to be a resourceful self-starter, with high integrity and drive. This position may require after-hours availability, as needed.

What will you do?
  • Maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Be a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintaining a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully uphold Compassion’s ministry in prayer.

  • Act as an advocate to raise the awareness of the needs of children. Understand Christ’s mandate to protect children. Commit to and prioritize child protection considerations in all decision-making, tasks, and activities across the ministry. Abide by all behavioral expectations in Compassion’s Statement of Commitment to Child Protection and Code of Conduct. Report any concerns of abuse, neglect, or exploitation of children through Compassion’s internal reporting process and appropriately support responses to incidents if they occur.

  • Uphold and engage in Compassion’s core Cultural Behaviors.

  • Provides pipeline management, and detailed event and revenue support for fundraisers using enterprise-wide tools such as Salesforce, Tableau, and the Microsoft Office product suite.

  • Creates processes or recommends improvements to aid business operations. Analyzes and reviews business processes and contributes solutions required to address issues, including process steps and impact assessment to increase productivity and efficiency. Prepares supporting documentation such as presentations, future state maps, success metrics, business requirements, and related impact analysis.

  • Coordinates the compilation of contracts for routing, approval, and signatures. Ensures that payments are calculated correctly according to signed contracts and processed in a timely manner.

  • Develops consistent and effective metrics for the application of data in the ministry and develops strategy-related data/metrics definition, analysis, dashboards, tools, and artifacts to provide up-to-date status of key initiatives.

  • Gathers business data such as project costs or process metrics, analyzes the information, prepares forecasts, and generates and presents reports based on this analysis. Serves as a project manager for medium-sized projects with moderate scope and complexity.

  • May perform or support department-specific duties sometimes related to other job subfamilies such as marketing, data analysis, business intelligence, expense report assistance, basic accounting, purchasing, trip support, tours and events, simple facilities requests, and/or program development.

  • Proactive in partnering with other groups’ professionals when required to integrate information and processes across functions. Serves as a skilled and independent contributor to various projects as assigned in support of the work of Business Support management.

  • Prepares and relays communication concerning business operations and outcomes to appropriate audiences to foster understanding and acceptance for initiatives, policies, and practices. Further, contributes to change integration across projects within the team. Works to identify change saturation among target audiences as needed.

  • Trains and advises stakeholders on processes, guidelines, and opportunities related to the group or program projects. May liaise between assigned department and others.

  • The incumbent may coach and provide expertise to other professionals and support staff.

What do you bring?
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent education, experience, training, and/or certification.

  • Seven years professional experience demonstrating proven administrative and organizational skills in sales support, business analysis, business intelligence, data analysis, project management, or a similar field. Radio industry experience strongly preferred.

  • Project coordination expertise with a strong track record of building relationships with key partners and stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated ability to independently analyze, collate, and communicate information relevant to budgets, schedules, metrics, and projects.

  • Process-minded and strong technical proficiency using systems such as Salesforce (or comparable CRM tool), MS Outlook, and MS Excel.

  • A team-player mindset with a heart to serve and support others towards success in their roles.

  • Ability to travel up to 6+ times a year for 3-5 days at a time.
