Job summary

KBR is seeking a Business Specialist (PP&C/IT) who will play a key role in supporting business system tools and financial reporting. This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting, along with proficiency in reporting tools like Power BI.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, be capable of communicating effectively within teams, and assist in managing procurement-related financial data to drive informed decision-making.

KBR is looking for a business specialist who will perform the duties below:

• Develop and support business system tools to provide accurate reporting of actual, estimated, and planned costs. Provide communication between the PP&C team and IT for business systems tools as required.
• Develop and provide project variances, trending and analysis of expenditures, and completion reports.
• Perform moderately complex accounting and analytical tasks, including transaction processing, account reconciliation and analysis.
• Create reports and analyze procurement data to support senior leadership in managing subcontracts and material purchases that will impact monthly financial forecasting
• Assist in developing presentations and reports for internal and external customers.
• Work with the procurement team to assist in accurate financial reporting of subcontract and material costs. In addition, oversee reporting of subcontract and material accruals for financial reporting.
• Work to develop reporting efficiencies, including but not limited to the use of Power BI Dashboards for reporting.
• Identify, diagnose and resolve complex problems independently.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field related experience.
• Knowledge of basic program management concepts (budgets, estimate to complete, project schedules, etc.).
• Knowledge of project management, scheduling and control account planning concepts.
• Knowledge of the procurement process.
• Knowledge of FAR, CAS and government accounting standards.

Additional Qualifications

• Familiarity with standard government agency reporting requirements (NASA, DOD).
• Effective use of OnBase, Costpoint, COBRA, COGNOS systems.
• Knowledge of SharePoint online, Power BI Dashboards, and .NET applications.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Advanced Excel skills.
