The Boston Globe is seeking a smart, curious, and dynamic business reporter to cover multiple industries as part of our fast-moving and flexible Rhode Island team.
This role covers hospitals and health care, higher education, and the robust restaurant and hospitality industry in Rhode Island. You’ll learn something new every day, develop deep sources, and break news that makes you an authority on your beat.
We’re also looking for someone who can write quick hits as well as step‑back pieces and powerful enterprise stories, deliver scoops, and ask tough questions that hold people in power accountable.
You’ll be working at one of the strongest regional newspapers in the country, as part of an award‑winning team that is creative, collaborative, enterprising, and innovative.
This is a full‑time position based in our Providence, R.I., office, with a hybrid in‑person/remote option. Candidates should be based in Rhode Island or willing to move to the Greater Providence area.
The hourly rate for this role is $38.41 – $61.53.
This position is a union position covered by a collective bargaining agreement with the Boston Newspaper Guild.
