Job Summary
TheBusiness Product Owner (BPO)acts as the strategic liaison between business stakeholders and the product development team. This role is responsible for translating business goals into product features, ensuring solutions align with enterprise objectives, and driving delivery through agile methodologies. The BPO plays a crucial role in maximizing the value of the product by balancing business needs, technical capabilities, and customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Alignment
- Define product vision and roadmap in alignment with business goals and customer needs.
- Prioritize business initiatives, making data-informed trade-offs between features, cost, time, and risk.
- Product Ownership
- Own and manage the product backlog; write clear, concise user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, UX, QA, marketing, sales) to define and deliver high-quality product releases.
- Serve as the voice of the business and customer within the development team.
- Stakeholder Collaboration
- Act as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders including executives, operations, finance, compliance, and customer success.
- Conduct regular reviews, gather feedback, and adjust the product roadmap as needed.
- Present product updates, KPIs, and value propositions to stakeholders.
- Delivery Oversight
- Lead sprint planning, backlog grooming, reviews, and retrospectives in collaboration with the Scrum Master.
- Ensure features meet acceptance criteria and deliver business value upon release.
- Identify and mitigate risks or dependencies that could impact delivery.
- Performance & Analytics
- Track and report on key product metrics (KPIs, OKRs) to evaluate product success and inform future iterations.
- Use market research, customer feedback, and data analytics to refine product direction.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; MBA or advanced degree a plus.
- 7+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Business Analyst
- Proven experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Strong knowledge of product lifecycle management, business strategy, and requirements gathering.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to understand technical solutions and communicate them in business terms.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with tools like Jira, Confluence, Aha!, Miro, or equivalent.
- Domain expertise in [industry-specific domain such as fintech, healthcare, SaaS, etc.].
- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or similar Agile certification.
Pay Range Hourly: $70 - $80
