Job summary

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (OTS) seeks a Business Performance Director to lead process improvement and strategic initiatives across our artillery systems business. You will drive data-driven performance analyses and align Lean/Six Sigma roadmaps with the organization’s goals in an on-site, Saint Petersburg, FL setting.

This role emphasizes strategic planning, reporting, and collaboration with leadership to accelerate growth and profitability.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree and 10-12 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Utilizes data-driven methodologies to analyze business performance metrics and process improvement options effectively.
• Conducts periodic status reviews of organizational goals and objectives to identify roadblocks to progress.
• Drives strategic initiatives and supports the development of long-term growth plans and profitability goals.
• Develops and directs reporting and tools to communicate strategic plans and concepts to leadership.
• Executes and enables an organization's strategic and long-range goal planning function.
• May analyze and recommend emerging industry trends, expansion opportunities, including mergers and acquisitions, competitive threats, the viability of outside business partners, and sources of capital.

Job Summary

Essential Functions

Additional Responsibilities

• Facilitates Lean events as a Kaizen Leader or Lean Tool Expert to drive process and performance improvements.
• Manages the Strategic Goal Deployment process and Operations Review structure for the business.

Required Qualifications

• Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 10-12 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
• Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications

• Preferred education and experience: Bachelor's Degree
• Discipline/Major: Business Administration or Related Degree
• Knowledge, skills & abilities: Business Operations. Strategic Analysis. Strategic Project Management. Strategy Development. Strategy Management. Trend Analysis. Organizational Goal Setting. Strategic Planning. Risk Analysis. Long Term Planning. Experience leading Transactional Process Improvements (TPI), Standard Work, Value Stream Mapping, and 5S events.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
• Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
• Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.

Travel Requirements

25-50% travel likely.
