Position: Business Optimization Superintendent
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Business Optimization Superintendent role is to identify, organize and lead business improvement projects to meet company objectives. Capture value, report progress and impact of optimization projects and ensure sustained benefits are incorporated into Florida Canyon plans and budgets.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work must meet all safety and environmental performance standards, and the candidate must demonstrate core HSE values in everyday actions and decisions.
- Identify and vet business improvement opportunities for feasibility and potential benefit.
- Liaise with leadership, technical teams, consultants and other stakeholders on opportunities; measure, report and share progress.
- Develop and implement solutions to improve technical and operational efficiencies; support the definition and implementation of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and operational performance targets.
- Anticipate, track and respond to both risks and opportunities.
- Work with teams to ensure agreed targets are achieved on time and within budget while meeting all safety, environmental and ethical guidelines.
- Plan and conduct project meetings and create reports.
- Ensure improvement projects are valued, measured, forecasted and reported correctly.
- Oversight of both internal and external resources in support of external reporting, including for NI 43-101 Technical Reports.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or other related field.
- 10 to 15 years of progressive ming and leadership experience.
- Experience in mining and project management.
- Working knowledge of SAP (or similar ERP software), AFE approval processes and project management systems.
- Understanding of and adherence to environmental permitting processes and obligations of existing permits.
- Excellent data and business analysis skills – ability to conduct detailed analysis, define KPIs, provide business logic and calculations, meet reporting requirements, etc.
- Proficiency as facilitator of workshops and process improvement initiatives using continuous improvement methodologies.
- Working knowledge of open pit mining equipment, methods, procedures and requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to build and manage relationships and work through influence.
- Demonstrated ability to create strategic plans and monitor their execution.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent safety record, required.
- Ability to perform essential functions of the position, required.
This position will be based at the Florida Canyon mine site near Winnemucca, Nevada.
