Job description

Why Are We Here?

The Ambassador Group is a boutique talent strategy firm providing executive search, recruiting, and talent pipeline development for values-driven construction leaders in the Bay Area. We are passionate about honoring the God-endowed nobility of human beings by promoting meaningful work with meaningful relationships.

Who Are You?

You're applying to be a BizOps Specialist to serve as an internal business analyst, cross-functional project manager, and hands-on technician. This role will make a direct impact on the culture, strategic trajectory, and success of a high-growth company. You’ll be mentored by a Managing Partner (the Integrator), working hand-in-glove with leadership to translate long- and medium-range vision into short-term goals and immediate tactical roadmaps, run point on high-stakes transformative initiatives, and stabilize systems before training their long-term operators and handing off stewardship.

What Are You Like?

You are a force multiplier — a radical owner with a growth mindset who thrives in VUCA environments. You:

  • Build → stabilize → train → extract

  • Exhibit radical ownership and radical candor

  • Document and communicate clearly at every turn

  • Pivot quickly when strategy demands it

  • Operate without ego, gossip, or drama

  • Provide input, receive direction, and cascade communication with equal grace

  • Manage up, down, and sideways

  • Derive satisfaction from digesting strategy, elaborating on it, and driving it to fruition

What You’ll Do

Strategic Planning, Activation, and Execution

  • Collaborate with leadership to translate strategic goals into actionable roadmaps with go/no-go milestones and clear win conditions

  • Lead growth initiatives across the org depending on whether it is demand-constrained, indicating a strategic focus on business development, sales, and marketing or supply-constrained, indicating a strategic focus on candidate identification, attraction, engagement, and development. Every initiative should raise the bar and leave the team with tools and sustainable systems that can be leveraged by operators after your extraction.

  • Provide hands-on execution where technical knowledge, problem-solving, or sheer persistence is required

Internal Business Analysis & Process Improvement

  • Monitor current-state baselines, EARs (energy → activity → results) and KPI trees (inputs → outputs → outcomes), and provide annotated reporting to drive accountability and iteration while balancing immediate effectiveness with long-term scale

  • Diagnose bottlenecks and inefficiencies; design scalable processes and clear handoffs across functions in collaboration with leadership

  • Integrate tracking and visualization to create actionable insights on business development, client management, and recruiting

Cross-Functional Project Management & Alignment

  • Apply RACI or other decision-rights and reporting frameworks to provide clarity

  • Utilize single source of truth (e.g. Trello) for initiatives, paired with a weekly ship room/standup cadence

  • Keep short-term deliverables aligned with long-term tech and business roadmaps

  • Partner with colleagues to embed improvements directly into their workflows. Deprecate shadow systems. Codify tribal knowledge. Destroy silos.

Innovation, Automation, and Technology Development

  • Shape the IT/tech stack roadmap (Crelate, Ezekia, hireEZ, Trello, Google Workspace, Canva, etc.) to enhance and streamline full cycle operations, leveraging third-party specialists as needed for implementation

  • Evaluate and implement automation and analysis tools, technologies, and platforms that boost efficiency and client/candidate experience (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, N8N, Zapier, Make, CloudFlare, Replit, AWS, Supabase, PowerBI, etc.)

  • Partner with internal and external developers on custom configs and proprietary solution development as appropriate

  • Encourage an innovative culture through pilot programs, collaboration, and iteration

Advisor to Leadership

  • Maintain an effective cadence with leadership including weekly 1on1s with the Integrator Partner and a weekly priority stack status and outlook report, as well as topical ad hoc meetings as needed

  • Act as a trusted advisor, surfacing challenges and offering solutions

  • Prepare briefings and analyses on opportunities, risks, and expansion

  • Step into temporary support roles across client, candidate, or project functions when continuity is critical

What We’re Looking For

  • Mindset: Balances vision with pragmatism. Finds pride in both big wins (building the cathedral) and small details (laying the bricks).

  • Relational Strengths: Clear communicator who builds trust quickly and manages stakeholders at all levels.

  • Style: Adaptable, resourceful, thrives in ambiguity. Energized by ownership and variety.

  • Skillset: Strong analytics, project management expertise, process design, workflow optimization, and comfort with BI/reporting tools. Strong proficiency with Excel/Google Sheets. Familiarity with RegEx, SQL, etc. a plus. Ability and willingness to adopt and learn technologies rapidly is necessary.

  • Experience: 4–7 years in business analysis, project management, consulting, or operations within entrepreneurial or high-growth environments.

  • Education / Certifications: Lean Six Sigma, PMP, Agile, Scrum, etc. or equivalent / adjacent designations a plus.

Work Environment

  • Remote role aligned to Pacific Time w/ at least 8a-3p PT overlap

  • High-trust, high-intensity, growth-stage environment — extended hours during peak initiatives

  • Flexible schedule

  • Possible occasional travel

  • Small, entrepreneurial team where every person directly shapes outcomes

Compensation & Benefits

  • Annualized base range $70,000–$90,000+ DOE

  • 401(k) - Company match of 100% on first 1% of compensation and 50% on the next 5%, contributed either on a pre-tax or post-tax (ROTH) basis

  • PTO - 10 days of paid time off per year + your birthday as a paid floating holiday

  • Holidays - Ambassador Group typically observes standard federal holidays as paid days off

  • Note: Health insurance is not yet offered. This role is designed for candidates who value growth trajectory, autonomy, and meaningful impact as primary benefits. We will evaluate health care coverage possibilities within the coming year.

Why Join Us

This is a unique chance to join a values-driven, high-integrity team at a pivotal stage of growth. You’ll work side-by-side with leadership to shape the company’s foundation and future and you'll participate in its success. If you thrive on variety, autonomy, and the challenge of solving hard problems with excellence, and if being the tireless, thankless “special forces” of internal business execution excites you, you’ll excite us.

Sample projects you might tackle in year one:

  • Baseline current workflows and propose 2–3 high-leverage process improvements.

  • Deliver first round of next-gen KPI dashboards for leadership review

  • Drive and facilitate ATS/CRM migration/enhancement (not merely data, but structures, automations, workflows, etc.)

  • Stand up a sustainable business development engine with outbound, content, and referral channels

  • Rebuild AI-enhanced human-in-the-loop sourcing automation workflow and SOPs to deepen, accelerate, and scale recruiting ops
