We are hiring a Business Office Manager to join our dynamic care team at Summit Commons Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Providence!
Full-time salaried position with weekly pay. Summit Commons is a skilled nursing facility.

As the Business Office Manager, you assist in the day-to-day accounting function of the facility in accordance with current applicable accounting and cost reimbursement principles relating to the long-term care operations, and as may be directed by the Administrator or Accountant.
Education & Experience:
Must possess an associate’s degree in Accounting and/or an equivalent of two (2) years training and experience in health care accounting, billing & collections.
Must have as a minimum two (2) years experience in bookkeeping or accounting practice.
Experience in health care accounting preferred but not required.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Bill and Collect all Patient Accounts.
Balancing and updating monthly closing.
Communicate all potential Patient AR Account issues with Administrator.Supervise and oversee employee with regard to training of job functions, hiring, and firing and employee performance evaluations.
Demonstrate a working knowledge of all job descriptions within the department.Discuss billing situations with residents and/or responsible parties.
Stay current with intermediary procedural changes.
Maintain accurate and timely records and reports, including all accounts, journals, deposits, ledgers, etc.
Maintain accurate census data.
Secure all cash and valuables on hand, per policy.
Oversees and supervises Assistant Business Office Bookkeeper.
Maintains Resident Trust or where applicable delegates the responsibility.
Specific Requirements:
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
Must be able to type 45 words per minute and use a 10-key calculator.
Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, etc., that are necessary for providing sound accounting techniques.
Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents, staff, based on whatever maturity level at which they are currently functioning.
Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing accounting practices.
