Job summary

Cubist Systematic Strategies in New York is seeking an operations-focused professional to support the KEPL team. You will help manage daily planning, processes, and cross-functional coordination to keep the team aligned with trading-driven goals.

Responsibilities include onboarding, headcount planning, dashboard maintenance, and collaboration with HR, legal, and tech. A Master’s degree and 3+ years in finance or operations are required; GenAI and Jira experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in STEM, business, or related discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in finance in a business operations, chief of staff, project management, recruiting operations, strategy, consulting, or trading role.
• Proficiency with GenAI tools and Microsoft Office suite, as well as productivity tools such as Jira.

Responsibilities

• Support the portfolio manager in daily operations, planning, prioritization, and follow-ups.
• Manage team standards and processes, including meetings, action items, timelines, documentation, and cross-functional coordination.
• Coordinate recruiting operations, including candidate tracking, interview scheduling, feedback collection, onboarding logistics, and communication with the firm's recruiting teams.
• Support employee onboarding, training coordination, team integration, and ongoing employee experience.
• Manage and improve employee workload balance and internal communication.
• Organize team events, offsites, knowledge sharing sessions, and culture building initiatives.
• Assist with headcount planning, seating, equipment, access requests, and other operational needs.
• Build and maintain internal systems, dashboards, trackers, and documentation to improve transparency and execution.
• Partner with the firm's internal functions such as HR, legal, compliance, finance, technology, and facilities to ensure smooth team operations.
• Take ownership of ad hoc projects to help the team scale effectively.

WHAT'S REQUIRED:

• Master's degree in STEM, business, or a related discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in finance in a business operations, chief of staff, project management, recruiting operations, strategy, consulting, or trading role.
• Proficiency with GenAI tools and Microsoft Office suite, as well as productivity tools such as Jira or similar.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with technical, research, and business teams.
• Open-minded attitude and willingness to learn new skills and processes.
• Ability to operate independently, identify problems, and proactively communicate and drive solutions.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-performance, startup-like environment.

The annual base salary range for this role is $200,000-$300,000 (USD) , which does not include discretionary bonus compensation or our comprehensive benefits package. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things.
