Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of supervisory or lead experience in business lending.
  • Experience with small business loans, lines of credit, and microloans.
  • Strong regulatory compliance knowledge for credit union lending.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coach, and develop business lending processors and closers, fostering teamwork and accountability.
  • Oversee daily workflow to ensure timely and accurate processing, closing, and documentation of small business loans, microloans, equipment financing, and lines of credit.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex loan processing and closing issues, ensuring prompt resolution and member satisfaction.
  • Monitor loan pipeline and coordinate with AVP and other lending staff to prioritize workload and meet service level agreements.
  • Review loan files for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular quality control checks on processed and closed loans; provide feedback and training to team members as needed.
  • Assist AVP with implementing process improvements, technology enhancements, and new products to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with underwriting, servicing, and other teams to ensure seamless loan origination and closing processes.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant regulations, credit union policies, and best practices in business lending.
  • Prepare and deliver operational reports to AVP, Business Lending regarding team performance, loan processing metrics, and quality assurance.
  • Support AVP, Business Lending with special projects, audits, and process reviews as assigned.

Position Summary

The Business Lending Supervisor supports the AVP, Business Lending by overseeing the daily operations and performance of the business lending processors and closers. This role ensures efficient, accurate, and compliant processing and closing of non-commercial business loans, while fostering a collaborative and member-focused environment. The Supervisor acts as a key resource for team members, addressing operational challenges and maintaining high member service standards.

Qualifications
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in business lending operations, with supervisory or team lead experience preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of loan processing, closing procedures, and business lending products (small business loans, lines of credit, microloans, etc.).
  • Strong familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards for credit union lending.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to motivate and develop team members in a fast-paced environment.
