Overview

As a Business Intelligence Specialist, you will transform raw data into strategic dashboards and visualizations that empower decision-makers, uncover trends, and drive performance across business units. You will be a valued member of our analytics team, collaborating closely with business stakeholders to deliver actionable insights.

Responsibilities
  • Produce and deliver tracking and reporting for key KPIs and SLAs across the business.
  • Understand business processes and requirements to identify opportunities for improvement or optimization through data analytics.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret large datasets to support business objectives.
  • Maintain and enhance business intelligence platforms and tools.
  • Build reports and tools outside the database environment to meet evolving business needs.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize business intelligence models.
  • Evaluate and improve existing business intelligence models for greater efficiency and impact.

Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in data analysis or business intelligence.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Expertise in data modeling, database technologies (SQL, Google BigQuery, etc.), and business intelligence tools (Tableau, Power BI, Sisense, Looker, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of data warehousing, data mining, and statistical analysis.
  • Ability to analyze large datasets, identify trends and patterns, and explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Power Query, and SQL.
  • Fluency in English communication.
Nice to have
  • Experience building and maintaining business intelligence models in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems using technical experience, judgment, and precedents.
  • General understanding of business processes and objectives to align business intelligence with strategic goals.
  • Experience with troubleshooting and optimizing BI models.
  • Ability to communicate insights effectively to diverse audiences.

The annual salary for this position is between $73,000.00 - $83,000.00 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
