Job summary

M.G. Newell Corporation seeks a Business Intelligence & Project Analyst to develop Power BI reports and dashboards, working with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure data accuracy. The role supports process improvement projects and automation across operations.

You will coordinate with the Business Systems Manager to move reporting initiatives from request to deployment, including QA, testing, and documentation. A strong analytical mindset and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
  • Experience building reports or dashboards in Power BI.
  • Working knowledge of DAX, Power Query, Excel, and relational data.
  • Experience gathering requirements with business users.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to communicate progress and blockers proactively.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, test, and publish Power BI reports, dashboards, datasets, and supporting data models.
  • Meet with stakeholders to understand business needs, reporting requirements, data definitions, and expected outcomes before development begins.
  • Perform independent QA and validate report accuracy, calculations, filters, relationships, totals, date logic, and business rules prior to deployment.
  • Investigate reporting discrepancies, unexpected results, and source-data concerns and work with stakeholders to determine root causes.
  • Support business systems, reporting, automation, and process improvement projects from planning through implementation.
  • Proactively communicate project and development progress, blockers, delays, questions, decisions, and changes in priorities or timelines.
  • Develop and maintain workflow automations using Microsoft Power Automate, SharePoint, Outlook, Teams, Excel, and other Microsoft 365 tools.
  • Evaluate existing reports, processes, and workflows and recommend opportunities to simplify, improve, consolidate, or automate them.
  • Maintain documentation for reports, datasets, calculations, data sources, workflows, business processes, project decisions, assumptions, and known limitations.

Required Skills, Education And Requirements
  • Requires a bachelor's degree in Business, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Project Management, Computer Information Systems, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
  • Professional experience developing reports or dashboards using Microsoft Power BI.
  • Working knowledge of DAX, Power Query, Microsoft Excel, and relational data.
  • Experience gathering requirements and working directly with business users, stakeholders, or leadership.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and documentation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to independently validate work before presenting it for review.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical information to non-technical users.
  • Ability to proactively communicate progress, questions, blockers, risks, and changes without requiring repeated follow-up.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2–5 years of experience in business intelligence, reporting, business analysis, project coordination, business systems, or a related role.
  • Experience writing SQL queries and working with relational databases.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Automate, SharePoint, and Microsoft 365.
  • Experience working with ERP, WMS, or other transactional business systems.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV or Dynamics 365 Business Central.
  • Experience developing reports for manufacturing, distribution, engineering, sales, finance, inventory, or project-based environments.
  • Experience with Power Apps, Dataverse, REST APIs, or Microsoft Graph is beneficial.
