Ryan Companies US, Inc. is seeking a Business Intelligence Intern for Summer 2027 to join the National Mission Critical team. This full-time undergraduate internship runs mid-May to August 2027, with 4 days in the office and 1 day work-from-home.

Job Description: Ryan Companies US, Inc. has an exciting career opportunity for a Business Intelligence Intern to join our National Mission Critical team! This is for a Summer 2027 internship for full-time undergraduate students with a graduation date December 2027 or later. The internship is a full-time, 40-hour week and will commence mid May 2027 and conclude before returning to school in August 2027. This is an in-office role with an expectation of 4 days in the office, 1 day work-from-home. The office location could be any number of current Ryan Companies locations: Minneapolis, Chicago, Dallas, Austin, Atlanta, or Tampa, for example. The Business Intelligence Intern, Mission Critical is the intersection of data analytics, process improvement, and innovation. This position will possess the proven ability to drive change using data insights, process engineering, and organizational collaboration and will work closely with project and sector leadership to proactively identify operational issues, diagnose root causes, and lead solutions through technology enhancements, process redesign, and effective change adoption.

Some things you can expect to do:

Process Improvement & Innovation

Engage project teams to conduct root cause analysis to uncover underlying drivers of performance gaps, risk exposure, or execution delays. Design and implement solutions that may include changes to processes, tools, systems, or organizational structures. Monitor adoption and performance of implemented changes and adjust strategy based on feedback and measurable impact. Create documentation, SOPs, and training materials to support process standardization and scalability. Identify emerging and persistent data center industry challenges and collaborate with sector and other business leaders on deploying initiatives to address these.

Data Analytics

Identify and analyze operational inefficiencies across development, construction, and corporate functions using internal and external data sources. Translate findings into compelling insights using dashboards, visualizations, and executive-ready narratives with clear metrics and data-driven KPIs. Translate operational pain points into data requirements to identify collection opportunities with data engineering and field technology teams. Function as a bridge between data analytics, technology teams, and operational leadership to ensure integrated solution design.

Some things you should expect to have:

Pursuing bachelor’s / master’s degree in business, Engineering, Data Analytics, or related field. Proficiency in data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau), SQL, and analytics platforms. Effective communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills. Experience with project delivery, scheduling, or cost control tools (e.g., Procore, Smartsheet, Primavera) is a bonus.

Compensation:

The hourly base pay range is $20 - $25 per hour. The base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission and/or incentive program.
