AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support data centers, servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment to ensure our customers have continual access to innovation. We work on challenging problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain, and we seek talented individuals to help us.

You will join a diverse team of software, hardware, network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and more. Your role involves collaborating across AWS to deliver safety, security, and capacity at optimized costs, fostering an inclusive culture that encourages bold ideas and ownership.

We are seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer in Seattle, WA, who can operate with a startup mentality, partnering with managers and business leaders to deliver data-backed insights, identify improvements, and implement solutions.

The ideal candidate is highly analytical, passionate about data mining, and capable of generating insights to influence organizational direction. You should be comfortable digging into data, developing core metrics, and building solutions to measure and improve performance and customer experience. Your skills will enable data-driven decision-making through data mining, modeling, and analytics, as well as building data pipelines, automating reports, and creating dashboards for stakeholders.

Key responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, document, and operate large-scale data structures for business intelligence.
  • Implement data structures using best practices in data modeling for online reporting and analysis with BI tools.
  • Gather and translate business requirements into scalable, robust data solutions.
  • Analyze source data systems and promote best practices within source teams.
  • Analyze large datasets, discover insights, and build metrics to support decision-making.
  • Participate in full development lifecycle, from design to maintenance, producing comprehensive dataset documentation.
  • Evaluate dataset implementations and identify business process improvements through data insights.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, or related fields.
  • 4+ years of experience analyzing data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL, etc.
  • 4+ years of experience with data visualization tools like Tableau or Quicksight.
  • 4+ years of experience with data modeling, warehousing, and ETL pipelines.
  • 4+ years of SQL and scripting (Python) experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in related fields.
  • Experience as a Business Intelligence Engineer in tech companies.
  • Experience with data mining, ETL, and large-scale datasets.
  • Experience in forecasting and statistical analysis.
  • Knowledge of AWS solutions like EC2, DynamoDB, S3, Redshift.
  • Experience with statistical packages like R, SAS, Matlab.
