Job summary

Amazon Global Logistics seeks a Business Intelligence Engineer II to design, develop, and maintain scalable BI solutions ending in actionable insights for Sales, Marketing, and Pricing analytics. You will work with large data sets, write high-quality SQL, and build dashboards across Redshift, MySQL, and Oracle environments.

You’ll develop end-to-end reporting, provide thought leadership, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced logistics setting to drive growth and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL, etc.
  • 1+ years of SQL, ETL or Oracle experience.
  • 1+ years processing large, multi-dimensional datasets from multiple sources.
  • 1+ years performing statistical analysis.
  • 1+ years developing automated reporting.
  • 3+ years in the job offered or a related occupation.
  • 1+ years using SQL, ETL, or Oracle experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools.
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines.
  • Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting (Python) for modeling.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scaled, automated systems and dashboards to support analytical and business needs.
  • Apply analytical rigor to solve problems and inform business decisions.
  • Write SQL code to retrieve and analyze data from databases and data resources.
  • Develop queries and visualizations for ad-hoc and ongoing reporting.
  • Lead design, development, and management of analytical tools and reporting with cross-functional collaboration.

The Amazon Global Logistics Analytics team drives multiple core and advanced science initiatives for Fulfillment By Amazon (FBA). The approach and technology are disruptive, challenging traditional methods and transforming industry operations. Amazon seeks an exceptional Business Intelligence Engineer to support Sales, Marketing, and Pricing analytics for Global Logistics. This individual will build new business intelligence solutions end-to-end. The ideal candidate will be passionate about working with big data sets and have the expertise to derive insights, answer business questions, and drive growth.

Key job responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain scaled, automated, user-friendly systems, reports, dashboards, etc. to support analytical and business needs for customer promise and operations.
  • Use analytical and statistical rigor to solve complex problems and drive business decisions to achieve strategic goals.
  • Write high-quality SQL code to retrieve and analyze data from database tables (e.g., Redshift, MySQL, Oracle), and understand Amazon's data resources to determine appropriate usage.
  • Develop queries and visualizations for ad-hoc requests, projects, and ongoing reporting.
  • In addition to leading the design, development, and management of analytical tools and reporting, the successful candidate will provide thought leadership and business analysis support as needed. They will demonstrate strong business acumen, experience in developing reporting and analytical infrastructures, excellent communication skills, the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.

Basic Qualifications
  • 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and option for Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
